Toolbox Wins San Antonio 2012 ADDY "Best of Show"

(San Antonio, TX – February 24, 2012) Toolbox Studios, Inc. took home top honors Saturday at the 2012 American Advertising Federation (AAF) San Antonio ADDY® awards gala at the Westin La Cantera.

Judges awarded Toolbox Best in Show, their highest local accolade, for art direction on re:form Ancestors, a popular interactive media property created for Minneapolis-based publisher sparkhouse. Ancestors is a youth Bible study that humorously explores the real, unpolished and unexpected personalities of Old and New Testament Bible characters. Toolbox designers and illustrators worked with sparkhouse writers and animators to create the latest addition to the re:form series, which also won local and regional ADDY awards in 2010.

President of Toolbox Studios, Rob Simons, was a semi-finalist judge at the 2010 Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) (http://www.gsea.org/) produced by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) (http://eonetwork.org). The GSEA program is the premier award for students that own and run businesses while attending a high school, college or university.

Toolbox Expands Battle-of-the-Bands Contest for USAA

Toolbox financial services client USAA kicked off its 4th annual Garage Band Playoff, a national competition open to aspiring musicians and songwriters of all ages. This marks the fifth time Toolbox Studios has been tapped to develop, design and implement the contest, and the fourth annual online iteration of the contest. The web site includes custom animations, band entry pages, and a separate voting site. The deadline to enter is Jan. 16, 2011. The bands chosen to compete will be selected shortly thereafter, with online voting beginning Feb. 25, 2011.
