Toolbox shines on 2011 ADDY awards night
Toolbox Studios, Inc. won twelve ADDY® awards on Saturday including five
Gold and one Special Judges’ Award at the annual celebration held by
the American Advertising Federation (AAF) San Antonio.
This year, San Antonio’s top advertising and creative professionals gathered at the new JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort for their annual toast to the tops in concept and design. The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry's largest competition, recognizing creative excellence. Close to 500 local entries in more than 90 categories were received for this year's competition from area agencies, freelance professionals and students. The Special Judges Awards were given at the sole discretion of the judges and honor the "the best copywriting and best art direction in the show."
"This year, the awards we won really showcase the type of work Toolbox Studios is best known for delivering," said Toolbox creative director Paul Soupiset. "It reinforces that we are providing valuable solutions to our clients."
He continued, "The ADDYs we won for sparkhouse, Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition, USAA, and Rebecca Creek Distillery all are strong conceptually, but they're also executions that reflect deep strategy and proven processes. What you see on the outside may be exacting art direction and colorful design, or great concept coupled with original illustration. What you never get to see at awards shows is what's under the hood — the deep understanding of our clients' business objectives or the account planning and discipline that allow us to deliver these ideas on budget and on time."
Toolbox designer Steven Gonzalez said, "We appreciate the industry recognition of the creative work done by the Toolbox team. I’m especially proud to see Toolbox win multiple gold, using a variety of media, all across a variety of industries. Toolbox really shone across multiple channels."
In past years, Toolbox Studios' local Gold ADDY® awards have gone on to win regional and national awards. The National Awards Show and Gala will be held June 4, 2011 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.
