Apple points publishers to Toolbox-designed LibreDigital microsite
Amidst a growing demand for digital books on the iPad, Apple is directing publishers to visit apple.libredigital.com, a microsite which Toolbox Studios recently designed for its partner LibreDigital, enabling book publishers to have their catalogs optimized for, distributed to, and marketed on the estimated 10 million iPad devices to be sold this year.
Conceived, designed and launched in record time, the microsite features a relevant Twitter stream, a Frequently Asked Questions page and a Sign-Up page for interested publishers, with data seamlessly integrating with LibreDigital’s existing sales systems. Toolbox designers, strategists and web developers worked to make sure the site was launched on time and met LibreDigital’s and Apple’s specifications.
“The site is a huge success for LibreDigital and a big win for small-to-midsized publishers who needed a clear way to get their products onto the iPad,” said Bob Carlton, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at LibreDigital. He continued, “LibreDigital was pleased to have chosen Toolbox Studios as our designer of choice for this site. Toolbox has partnered with us in many ways over the past year, creating compelling application design, product concepts, and marketing support for our organization and our clients.”
In late March Apple chose a handful of Apple Approved eBook Aggregators who could handle the optimization of high-quality products which satisfy Apple’s EPUB specifications for inclusion in their new iBookstore. Some of the largest book publishers in the world already trust LibreDigital to manage this process on their behalf, with tens of thousands of LibreDitgital-powered books already available on the iPad on its April 3 launch.
For the last decade, LibreDigital has offered e-book conversion, distribution, and sales analytics for the largest book publishers in the world, including the delivery to Apple of thousands of titles that will be initially available in iBookstore. Six of the top ten U.S. trade publishers and eight of the top ten newspapers use LibreDigital tools.
