Toolbox Studios announces Summer 2008 interns
SAN ANTONIO, TX — Toolbox Studios, Inc. today announced its 2008 Summer Internship Program selections. Two students were chosen from a diverse pool of design, advertising and account service applicants from colleges and universities across the United States:
Maria Harrington is a senior communications design major at Texas State University; as design intern, Maria will assist with multiple-channel strategy, design and execution across Toolbox's key lines of business: financial services, food and beverage, and youth media. Maria is currently an analyst with Dell in Austin.
Kathryn Legendre, a mass communications-advertising major, also at TSU, will return to Toolbox for a third summer as youth media intern, assisting with client brand management, production and design across multiple channels including podcasting, print, social networking sites and Web development. Additionally, Legendre will manage Toolbox Studios' in-house podcast studio. She is also currently music director at KTSW in San Marcos.
"The fact that both our interns happen to have come from right up the road in San Marcos is encouraging; we're always interested in fostering the San Antonio-Austin corridor as an incubator for new talent," said youth media director Paul Soupiset, who has headed up the Toolbox Summer Internship Program since the late 1990s.
Toolbox interns receive a stipend for their summer-long service, with daily activities including concept, design and interaction with Toolbox creative support staff, vendors and clients. During the course of the summer, interns contribute to real-world client work and gain valuable experience during the 90-day program.
