Toolbox Studios receives Clarke American 2005 Supplier Excellence Award

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Last month, Toolbox Studios received Clarke American Checks’ 2005 Supplier Excellence Award for contributing to the success of Clarke American and its financial institution partners and customers.

Toolbox, a San Antonio-based, award-winning communication design firm, was cited for demonstrating innovation, passion for excellence and role model behavior, traits which reflect Clarke American’s desired brand attributes.

In the last year, Toolbox completed a variety of large-scale marketing projects for Clarke American, including a complete overhaul of the primary point of sale catalog used by Clarke American’s financial institution partners. For one such partner, Toolbox designed a custom point of sale print solution and developed an online catalog enabling customers to view the entire product line in over 6,000 branches across the nation.

Toolbox also implemented a unique, Internet-based proofing system for Clarke American to improve collaboration and communication during the design process. “Toolbox took the lead in providing us an online proofing site, and they continue to make application improvements that are immediately appreciated by all at Clarke American,” said Martha Hefling, Director of Marketing, Customer Products. “They have twice made major upgrades that they have given to Clarke American first.”

“Toolbox’s technology expertise allows them to work very closely with printers’ pre-press and equipment requirements,” added Hefling. “Many times they are able to directly link files and systems for better communication. On occasion, Toolbox has even helped printers modify their own systems for improved efficiency.”

Toolbox provided key strategic guidance by assigning an account supervisor to serve as a project manager at Clarke American. With a Toolbox staff member working proactively at the client site, Toolbox ensured that its capabilities were quickly and appropriately matched to Clarke American’s needs. “Toolbox’s approach and innovation saved us time and money,” said Hefling.

As part of the award, Clarke American donated $1,000 on behalf of Toolbox Studios to The Good Samaritan Center, a local community center offering programs to strengthen individuals and families, including accredited childcare, youth career training, college preparation, peer mentoring, recreation, summer activities, case management, parenting and senior services.
